CyberSec & AI Prague 2019 named event of the year in annual AI Awards

Avast and CTU’s (Czech Technical University) 2019 CyberSec & AI Prague conference has been recognised as the ‘Event of the Year’ in the 2019 AI Awards.

CyberSec & AI 2019 may have been the first joint conference organised by AVAST and CTU, but its impact has been immediate. This week it was announced in Czech national newspaper Hospodářské Noviny as the AI Awards 2019 ‘Event of the Year’.

The prestigious AI Awards are an annual Czech competition which celebrates the people, institutions, organisations, and events making a real impact in the AI landscape.

“To win this award in our first year really shows the quality of the speaker lineup that we put together,” said Avast’s CTO, Michal Pěchouček. “Working with CTU, we made a commitment to bring together the best minds in AI and cybersecurity from around the world in both academia and industry to answer the question of how AI can help us life free, safe, and secure lives.

“The response to the conference was hugely encouraging and to win this award is further confirmation that there is a real need being served by bringing together the AI and cybersecurity community in this way.”
